Lists of insurance agents licensed in Wisconsin are available in self-extracting files (for a Windows environment) and may be downloaded using the information below. Both report formats are free of charge and the data is updated weekly. The data is available in simplest form for use in a variety of systems and/or applications of the users' choice. Note: The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance does not provide support for downloading or use of this data. Records questions can be directed to ocirecords@wisconsin.gov.
Agents or companies must update agent information through procedures found at the following link: address change. The licensed agent must always resolve missing or incorrect information. The data provided in these files reflect information about agents and not the companies that they represent. Agents may represent numerous companies and possess authorities that a given company may not possess.

The data provided below can be used to import into data bases or spreadsheets. The user assumes all responsibility for choosing an appropriate tool and manipulation of the data while using that tool.
Format 1 - An All Agent List
This report contains all insurance agents licensed in the state of Wisconsin. The data is provided in a self-extracting DOS executable file. The extraction will create a text file. The data is stored in a fixed column format as follows:

The File for Format 1 - All Agents
Please note the file format was modified to include additional lines of authority and e-mail address as of March 29, 2010. al_all.exe (Last Modified: 05/14/12, File Size: 7,302) is a self-extracting executable file. The extracted file is a column delimited text file. Click on the link above (al_all.exe) and save the file to a PC in any location (e.g., your Windows desktop or a Windows folder of your choice). Once the file is saved to a PC, double-click it to start the self-extraction process. The result will be a text file named al_all.txt.
Format 2 - Agents by Company Appointments
This report contains a list of all insurance agents by insurance company name. Due to the size of this report it has been split into numerous parts for ease of use in standard office applications. A comprehensive list of all agents and all companies, or customized representations of agent information, is not available from the OCI and requesters desiring such custom lists should contact Sircon Corporation as referenced above.
As in format 1, the data is provided in a self-extracting DOS executable files. Each extraction will create a text file. The data is stored in a fixed column format as follows:

The Files for Format 2 - Agents by Company Appointments
Please note that company names can change. Current company names may be reviewed by going to the Licensed Insurers page on this Web site before performing a download.
Each file below is a self-extracting, executable file. Click on the filename that contains the name of the company for which you seek a list of agents (for example, Acuity is in the al_1st-al file, Sentry is in the al_s file). Select "Save" to save the file to a PC in the location of your choice. Once the file is saved on the PC, double-click it to start the self-extraction process. (Note: The file created/downloaded will be the same name as listed below but will have an ".exe" file extension.). Select where you want to save the extracted file and click on "Finish." An uncompressed work file of the same name will be created with a ".txt" extension in the location you chose. Once the extraction process is complete, navigate to where you stored the extracted file and double-click on it to open it in Notepad. The file is now ready for you to use in the application of your choice.
